While I eventually sold the site to an investor last year I dedicated several years of my life to the old site and with all the traffic we were seeing we were getting a constant stream of emails about merchant account providers.

Some of these were from credit card processors looking to be featured on our site, others were press releases about new companies, offers or software but a large number was actual customer feedback (both good and bad) about various merchant account providers.

I also personally got to know a number of senior people within massive merchant provider companies.

If you like, I was really “plummed into” the market more than anyone else. Fortunately Charge.com adopted a policy where their fees were the lowest in the business – which they hoped to make up for by attracting plemty of new business. This means that merchants using Charge.com to process their credit cards ended up paying fewer fees and making more profits at the end of the month.

Also, and this seems a weird thing to say, but the free software that Charge.com give you to process credit cards just flat out works – easily and simply. Too many other providers that we reviewed had glitches in their software or their servers would go down so website owners would suddenly find that their customers couldn’t place orders. The Charge.com software is tried and tested and we’ve never experienced any problems at all with it.

To this day I still personally believe – after years of research, interviews and reviews – that Charge.com is quite simply the very best merchant account provider for anyone based in the USA that is looking to accept credit cards.
